A partnership of the Everett Area, Monroe and South Snohomish County Chambers and the EDC
A primary function of the chambers of commerce is to serve their members as business advocates. The Joint Government Affairs Committee (JGAC) reviews governmental and legislative issues and forwards recommendations to their respective Boards of Directors. The JGAC also researches and adopts a legislative agenda and presents it to legislators each year before and during the state legislative session. During the legislative sessions, the JGAC takes positions on specific bills introduced, communicates those positions to our elected officials and lobbies on behalf of chamber members.
The JGAC also works with the County and cities on local issues and regional entities on Puget Sound issues. We know and maintain contact with our national representatives and staffs, as well.
All chamber members are welcome to participate on this committee. The meetings are the 2nd and 4th Fridays, 8:00-9:30 AM at Community Transit, 7100 Hardeson Rd, Everett, 98203. Confirm meeting information with your chamber before attending for the first time.
