About Michael Parks:
Michael Parks, editor emeritus of Marple's Letter, has been studying, writing about and speaking about the economy and companies of the Pacific Northwest for more than 30 years. Parks joined The Seattle Times in 1967, and became the newspaper’s financial editor in the early 1970s. He moved to Marple's Letter in 1977, and was editor and publisher until September 2009.
Parks speaks frequently on the outlook for the Pacific Northwest economy for a wide variety of financial, business, professional and service groups, as well as in the classroom. His views on the region's economy have been quoted in The Economist, The New York Times, and many others. He is a regular contributor to a weekly news-in-review show on Seattle's public radio station KUOW.
